UAE’s Majid Al Futtaim to bring VR centers to the Middle East
UAE-based retail and entertainment company Majid Al Futtaim is set to bring VR centers to the Middle East following its recent investment in US VR entertainment company, Dreamscape Immersive.
Majid Al Futtaim will launch its first VR center in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, the company’s CEO, Alain Bejjani, told VR Film Pro. The VR center will use technology and content from US VR entertainment company Dreamscape Immersive, and is expected to open by the second quarter of 2018.
The news follows closely from Majid Al Futtaim’s investment in Dreamscape Immersive in December 2017.
“Dreamscape is a fantastic technology that is going to deliver the most immersive VR experience that currently exists,” Bejjani said. “In the coming months we will bring VR centers to Dubai and also other parts of the region.”
Dreamscape is currently promoting its new VR experience, Alien Zoo, which is set to debut at Westfield Century City, Los Angeles, on February 7. The VR experience consists of three episodes that give viewers the thrill of walking with strange, alien creatures: Walk with Megaraffes, Frolic with Frogcats, Escape the Sicari.
