Star Wars VR film released for free on HTC VIVE

ILMxLAB’s Trials on Tatooine, a Star Wars VR experience, has impressed fans of the film franchise at Star Wars Celebration, which kicked off in London on July 15.

In a development that will delight HTC VIVE owners, Trials on Tatooine was made available for free on Steam this week, representatives of ILMxLAB announced at the event.

“Completely enveloping and immersive, Trials on Tatooine puts you in the role of a Jedi Padawan sent to Tatooine, where you’ll rendezvous with the Millennium Falcon and step inside a galaxy far, far away like never before,” ILMxLAB said prior to the launch of the experience.

Presented by Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment group ILMxLAB, with this room-scale VR installation using the HTC Vive, Celebration is the only place in the world to experience the critically-acclaimed title.
