Accedo and HTC VIVE partner to develop VR experiences

Accedo, a broadcast services company, has partnered with HTC Vive to educate the video industry and accelerate VR innovation.

The companies are also working with the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) to create new user experiences for sporting events in VR.

Accedo and HTC will produce a series of joint seminars and participate in various industry speaking engagements, as well as work together with key media accounts such as the Australian NBL to implement new VR services and technologies.

Rikard Steiber, president of HTC Viveport, said: “The video experience will undoubtedly change as VR technology matures and services become more mainstream. Accedo brings a strong perspective, leadership and experience in the video industry, and we believe this partnership can stimulate innovation and cross-collaboration that will benefit content owners such as the NBL, and ultimately video consumers.”

The NBL, which includes eight teams from around the country, attracts more than 750,000 spectators each season, as well as prime-time television audiences for games broadcast nationally.

Accedo will be featuring their VR solutions at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, at Accedo booth SU9205CM. The next generation VR user experience will also be discussed during a panel on April 26 at 10:00 am.
